Jefferson County Democratic Party Annual Scholarship Banquet

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Annual Scholarship Banquet hosted by the Jefferson County Democratic Party at the Monticello Opera House. Every year, the organization gives out scholarships to local students heading off to college. It was great to celebrate the recipients and meet some candidates running for local and state offices.

I had a wonderful time serving up my famous strawberry shortcakes, better known as “Al Lawson`s Tall Cakes,” at the 11th Annual Gentleman’s Sampler, hosted by Delta Kappa Omega Foundation of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Providence Neighborhood Community.
